Epigraph
"…just buy a used Micro Seiki and don’t worry about turntables anymore; built like a tank and sounds better than TTs costing over 30K USD.” Mr. Ikeda, of Ikeda / Fidelity Research

Well, I know these endless discussions about Seiki but after a while we all have to make a decision. Tuning? Better? Better than what? What is "I like it!"?When doing something - serious - it is mandatory to know what a correct tonal reproduction is....

I look forward to propose the JUSTNESS AND JUSTNESS IN ANALOG JUDGMENT. If Micro-Seiki RX-5000 SOUNDS better then turntables that are being sold for $75K and if there are some idiots out there who scream that t...
I do have an interest turntables now as I am looking to upgrade my sources (digital too). It is doubtful that I will go in such an insane direction...It would probably be much more valuable to dredge up an old RX-5000 or 8...

Recently, since I‘m doing some remodeling of my turntable, there was some noise on my site about Micro Seiki turntables. I really do not want to push my site toward to becoming one of the typical audio fetish sites but in context of this thread I wou...

Well.....after reading this all, I can say, most is definitely phenomenal waste of time.I own HS-80 for many years and in my System I can easily hear the difference with or without it.Also is my speed stable, I check it from time to time with Timelin...

I did look at the thread at A’done and I assure that they are idiots. The guy claims that Micro Seiki. Wonderful table but it does need tweaking and labor - almost constantly. I has been living with Micro for a while and I know no single tweak that w...

Romy, I share your skepticism of the audio media (ALL media, really.), although maybe with a bit less “attitude” than you :). Audio reviewers are predisposed to like the newest thing, especially if they didn’t experience something better from years a...

Hi Measet,The original platter for the RX-5000 was gun metal which I replaced with a platter with a similar platter to Wellington's weighing about 50 lbs. , the other table came from Japan with a original stainless platter made by Micro Seiki (rare)...

Measet, I will try to find a photo and the schematic as you requested, but it may be a while before I can locate them. Plus, we are still digging out from Hurricane Irma down here. As I recall, I beefed up the raw D.C. supply and then used an LM317 r...

I have a micro seiki dd-30, and cannot find the headshell. My 20 yr old son has taken an interest in vinyl, and I would like to make the turntable usable for him! My question is, is there any other headshell that can be used on this table? I cannot...

Is there any way to choose the "right wife" only by video and photos whithout trying her? ;) You are well experienced Romy, which are the symptoms of the "wrong", wobbling or worn out bearing when we buy Micro Seiki RX or SX? Anyway I would like to g...

Hi Romy,Yes there was a reason. I typically used four arms on the table, the fourth being a shorter Ortofon rmg-212. The problems with the arrangements of two shorter arms with the two longer arms with the cable exit on bottom of the micro arm (which...

It seems that the micro seiki platter ends by the inside gasket at 4 3/4 inches and the platter ends by the gasket by the outside edge at 11 inches. The pad would need to be cut to those dimensions for the inside hole and outside diameter to fit. I...
do you happen to know which models had the air bearing?
I have seen 777, 1500, 5000, Z1, 8000 with air suspension but I think Micro did also some lighter tables with air. All those models (with exception of 8000 and Z1) ...

I know, the way I asked the question makes it uneasy to answer it.Micro Seiki fascinates me; though my experience with their tables has been less than satisfying so far. I had three very unsuccessful attempts with various 5000s, and I guess I am look...
